What Makes Healing Affirmations Effective and How they can Help You
By Hafsa Reasoner
We all have the conscious mind, the subconscious mind and the
unconscious mind. All these three states of consciousness have the capabilities
of awareness, thinking and logical reasoning1. The conscious mind is unique because it can
direct your focus and imagine and visualize whatever it wants.
The conscious mind learns by logic.
The subconscious and unconscious mind serve as a large storage room for
everything that you once experienced, and your beliefs, memories, skills, all
situations you have been through, all the sounds you have heard, all the things
you have sensed and all the images you have seen.
The subconscious mind stores any recent memories for quick recall when
needed, such as your telephone number. It also holds your daily current
recurring thoughts, behavior patterns, habits, senses and feeling. The
subconscious mind learns by repetitions rather than logic. The subconscious
works effortlessly in retrieving its memory.
The unconscious is a long-term storage place for all repressed memories
and “events” that have been installed since your birth. It stores memories that
we cannot just pull out whenever we want. The memories are always there, but we
cannot retrieve them voluntarily unless some special methods such as hypnosis
are used, or some event triggers it.
What does your emotional healing and
well-being have to do with the conscious, subconscious and unconscious mind?
Your emotional healing has everything to do with your mind. Your
emotional wounds are all in your subconscious and unconscious mind and it is
your responsibility to use your conscious mind to re-program your subconscious
positively in order to release the painful thoughts and memories, and
simultaneously attract healing vibrations from the environment around you.
It is important to note that your subconscious mind is much more aware
of your surroundings than your conscious mind (some suggest it’s where your
“sixth sense” comes from) and is always switched on, even when you are asleep,
however it does not follow any logic in deciding what is positive and what is
negative. It really just obeys orders from your conscious mind.
Therefore basing these affirmations on what you believe in, with your
aim being to re-program the subconscious, it is best to command it in terms of
an existing belief system that your subconscious is already familiar with. Your
subconscious already had this particular belief stored in order to protect you
and help you figure out right from wrong whenever you would experience
situations that require your judgment. Doing so will result into the
subconscious accepting the affirmations as being the right thing for you to do,
and causing it to believe that you will succeed. This is exactly the kind of
positive energy that will charge your thoughts with higher vibration and in
turn enable the healing energy being manifested right back to you.
Mind you, that even if you are not a spiritual or religious person, you
can still use the other version of the affirmations and it shall work for you
equally well. All you have to do is affirm it with your own willpower and good
conscious and your subconscious will serve your wish to heal just as well. You
only have to convince your subconscious that healing that person is really what
you want. Then let the energy from nature do the rest for you.
Using the exact name of the person you “feel” they hurt you, will
re-program the subconscious to identify that person as being safe to you, so
the next time you hear their name or see them in person, you know they are healed
and are no longer associated with the feeling of hurting you. In other words,
by reciting these affirmations over and over you will be convincing your
subconscious to think positive thoughts of healing towards that person. And as
you do so, your positive thoughts’ vibration frequency effects in attracting
back to you, the healing energy you are giving out to that person.
Using the phrase I AM has a psychological effect of insisting to your
subconscious that you consciously want the subconscious to carry out the
command you are giving. As a result, the subconscious receives the command
without any objection. The phrase I AM also has a significant meaning
associated with spirit, God power or the Healing Power of the Universe. It can
therefore be used in any sense, psychological or spiritual/religious in order
to bring forth the desired results.
Reciting these affirmations many times will train the subconscious to
accept the words as its truth. Remember the subconscious learns through
repetitions that is why people involved in advertising would replay a
commercial as many times as possible on media in order to convince people about
the message they want them to receive. The number days it takes to recite these
affirmations may vary depending on the depth of your emotional wounds and the
speed of recovery (meaning how quick your subconscious is accepting the
message). I personally like to recite these affirmations for seven days because
spiritually, I believe that it has something to do with learning, and therefore
I relate it with training the subconscious mind in order to make it more
effective. But remember that these affirmations can be recited for more than
seven days, if you find that you still need more healing.
Not mentioning the actions they did to hurt you is very important for
two reasons. First, is to keep the subconscious mind from being triggered by
the whole painful memory all over again and cause it to resurface, and as a
result to reject the affirmations and continuing to think negatively about the
situation and the person involved. Secondly, is to prevent the world around you
from picking up the words’ and thought’s vibration and causing it to manifest
again and again, making you experience the same thing over and over but with
different people or probably the same person. In other words, to keep you from
saying or feeling “why do these kinds of bad situations always happen to me”? I
know you wouldn’t want that.
Being focused while reciting the affirmations will give the
subconscious a sense of urgency in accepting what is told because the signal of
the message broadcasted by the conscious mind becomes so strong that it causes
the subconscious to prioritize it. If you do not have time to sit and focus and
recite these affirmations, then you shouldn’t have to worry because it will
work for you. The subconscious, unlike the conscious mind can perform
trillions of tasks at the same time. Reciting them with less focus will only
relatively delay the subconscious in being reprogrammed with the facts of the
affirmations, but it works over time.
The most important thing is that affirmations should be directed to as many people as possible. This will make them stronger, intense and the universe will respond by redirecting them back to you faster and as intensely.

Therefore, having learned how healing affirmations can be made
effectively, you can either use the healing affirmations from this blog or
adopt the method to formulate any healing affirmations that work best for you.
Goodluck to your healing.
